Verbose Studio ("we", "us", "our") operates the Realestate Lens mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our App, in compliance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
By using the App, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Email address (optional): If you choose to create an account, we collect your email address for account management and communication purposes.
- Contract documents: When you use our contract analysis feature, you upload PDF documents of property contracts. These documents are processed to generate your analysis report.
- Property addresses: When using the property research or inspection planner features, you provide suburb names or property addresses.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage analytics: We collect anonymous usage data including features accessed, analysis counts, and app performance metrics to improve the App.
- Device information: We may collect device type, operating system version, and app version for compatibility and troubleshooting purposes.
- Subscription data: Subscription status and management is handled by RevenueCat, our subscription management provider. RevenueCat processes transaction data as outlined in their privacy policy.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the App's features, including contract analysis, property research, and inspection planning.
- Process your contract documents through our AI analysis service (Google Gemini API) to generate risk assessments and reports.
- Manage your subscription and usage limits.
- Improve the App's functionality, performance, and user experience.
- Communicate with you regarding your account, if applicable.
4. How We Process Contract Documents
When you upload a property contract for analysis:
- The document is transmitted securely (via encrypted HTTPS connections) to Google's Gemini API for AI-powered analysis.
- The analysis results are returned to the App and stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
- We do not retain copies of your contract documents on our servers after processing is complete.
- Your documents are not used to train AI models.
5. Data Storage
Analysis results, research reports, and inspection plans are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This means your data remains on your device and under your control. If you delete the App, this data will be removed from your device.
6. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Gemini API: For AI-powered contract analysis and property research. Subject to Google's privacy policy.
- Google Maps Platform: For geocoding, directions, and location services used in the inspection planner and property research features.
- RevenueCat: For subscription management and in-app purchase processing. RevenueCat collects transaction data as described in their privacy policy.
- Apple App Store: For app distribution and payment processing.
7. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not:
- Sell your personal information to any third party.
- Share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
- Use your contract documents or personal data for advertising or profiling.
We may disclose your information only where required by law, such as in response to a valid legal process or government request.
8. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS).
- On-device data storage using Apple's secure frameworks.
- No server-side retention of contract documents after processing.
9. Your Rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Request deletion of your personal information.
- Complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you believe your privacy has been breached.
Since most data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by removing the App or clearing its data.
10. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us at support@realestatelens.app.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy in the App and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
